Our Bands

At KAR, our primary goal is to get student-musicians rocking together as bands. Each session, after 12 weekly rehearsals, they then head out to play a live gig at a Kalamazoo area rock venue! Our secondary goal(s): Teamwork. Respect. And FUN.

Each of our band directors and lesson teachers is a working musician in the Kalamazoo area.  

KAR's Mission:

The Kalamazoo Academy of Rock gives kids of myriad ages, interests, personalities and persuasions a safe place to jam, both literally and metaphorically.
